Becky Pigsley, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Becky Pigsley, our Chief of Staff, joined the Animals' Hospital of Levittown team in April 2012. She grew up in Lincoln, NE, but now lives in Lansdale, PA. Dr. Pigsley completed undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2004 before earning a DVM degree from Kansas State University in 2008. Previously, she practiced at Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital and Banfield the Pet Hospital. She has a special interest in feline medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Pigsley enjoys reading, knitting, watching movies, and spending time with friends. She also has two beloved cats, Reese and Simon. Dr. Pigsley has received a very warm welcome by both the staff and clients and says, "As I continue my career here, I look forward to meeting more of you and your pets. The Animal's Hospital has such a great family atmosphere and I hope that I can help continue that tradition."
Andrea Leof, VMD
Dr. Andrea Leof received a VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation she began working with the Women's SPCA in Philadelphia. Dr. Leof was the first associate to join Dr. Kearse at the Animals' Hospital in May of 1994. She continues to work for the hospital four days a week seeing patients. Dr. Leof especially likes meeting new "toodlets" puppies and kittens and watching them grow into adults. In addition to pediatrics, Dr. Leof also has a special interest in feline medicine. She has the ability to teach and educate both the staff and our clients on a daily basis and the hospital would not be the same without her.
Eric J. Matkowski, VMD
Dr. Eric Matkowski joined the Animals' Hospital of Levittown team in May 2013 and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Matkowski graduated from Clemson University with B.S. in Animal Sciences. He then attended MCP-Hahnemann University (now part of Drexel University) earning a Master's degree in Research Sciences.
Dr. Matkowski has interests in all aspects of canine and feline medicine and surgery and particularly enjoys helping educate clients in caring for their furry friends. He currently has 2 rescue dogs: A pitbull mix named Stanley and a chihuahua named Two. In his spare time, Dr. Matkowski enjoys spending time with his daughters and their pets. He also enjoys doing marathons and triathlons, including the Ironman triathlon races.
He has loved working with the team at The Animals’ Hospital of Levittown and looks forward to being a part of its family for many years to come.
Rachel E. Palis, DVM
Dr. Rachel Palis grew up in Rochester, NY and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA. She received an undergraduate degree from Arcadia University in 2010 and earned a DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.
Prior to joining The Animals’ Hospital of Levittown team, Dr. Palis practiced at Town and Country Vet Clinic in Potsdam, NY. Her veterinary interests include surgery, behavior, and exotics.
Dr. Palis's favorite hobbies include reading, hiking and running with her dogs, paddle boarding, photography, SCUBA and traveling to new places. She also has five wonderful rescue animals, two dogs named Diego (from St. Kitts) and Harlo (from Louisiana), and three cats named Feisty (the queen B), Rowdy (the three-legged cuddly wonder) and Shitten aka “the floof” (name is self-explanatory).
Dr. Palis is excited to join the awesome team at AHL and get to know her clients and all of their wonderful pets.
Erica Barenbaum, DVM
Dr. Erica Barenbaum grew up in Coral Springs, Florida and currently resides in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. She moved to Greeneville, Tennessee to play soccer in college and received an undergraduate degree from Tusculum College in 2008 and then went on to earn a DVM degree from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.
Prior to joining The Animals' Hospital of Levittown team, Dr. Barenbaum practiced at Pet's Best Friend Veterinary Hospital in Levittown. Her special interests include surgery, exotics and dermatology.
Dr. Barenbaum enjoys most outdoor activities including hiking, snowboarding, soccer and running. In her spare time, Dr. Barenbaum enjoys spending time with her daughter and their pets. They have two dogs – Porter (who can be seen around the hospital) and Tucker, three cats – Lilo, Stitch and Kloey, and a guinea pig – Piggy.
