Vaccinations are an important part of keeping your cat happy and healthy. Our veterinarians recommend that your kitten begins its vaccination schedule at 6-8 weeks of age (following the guidelines set below).

Beginning at 6-8 weeks of age:

  • Your kitten will receive a full physical examination
  • Your kitten will also receive a feline distemper vaccination
  • The vet will examine the fecal from your kitten to test for intestinal parasites
  • The vet may also suggest a FeLV / FIV screen at this time

At 10-12 weeks of age (approximately 3 to 4 weeks later):

  • Your kitten will come in for an office visit
  • Your kitten will receive a second distemper vaccination
  • Our veterinary staff will take a second look at your kitten’s fecal matter to ensure that no intestinal parasites are found
  • A FeLV temporary vaccination is administered

At 16-18 weeks of age (approximately 3 to 4 weeks later):

  • Your kitten will come in for an office visit
  • Your kitten will receive the last distemper booster
  • Your pet will be given the rabies vaccination
  • Our staff will administer a second FeLV booster

One year following your kitten’s last set of vaccinations, your cat should be examined and vaccination booster given.
